Hello and welcome to September's Blog post. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and read my musings. As it's officially autumn here in Scotland I thought I'd talk about my all time favourite spice... Cinnamon. It's something I've loved ever since I was a child. I think it started with the sweet cinnamon toast crunch cereal I used to scoff down before school. I LOVED this stuff as a kid and the taste has stayed with me ever since. I add cinnamon to everything now (savoury and sweet)....

Good morning everyone, It's been a whirlwind 8 weeks and I can't believe we are coming to the end of February. Being a mum for the second time I've learned a lot in 8 weeks and in particular, how quickly time passes and how easy it is to forget about yourself and focus all your energy on your new baby. There have been days when I've been glued to the sofa breastfeeding and struggled to find time for cooking any sort of meals. I've learned to be more resourceful, make sure I am organised, stock...

Hello everyone, I hope you've had a great weekend. It's been a weekend of lots of eating for me with a food workshop on Saturday, Father's Day dinner on Sunday and my husband's birthday yesterday. It's been a lovely time with family but I'm looking forward to some healthy eating for the rest of the week now all the celebrations are over! Today I thought I'd share some super simple plant based swaps for anyone who feels overwhelmed by the thought of switching to a plant based diet. There's so...

Happy hump day to you all. It's been a while since my last post and life has been busy but here I am today sharing with you my first experience of cooking with Miso because I think it's pretty awesome stuff!! For those of you wondering what the fudge is Miso, I'm about to share with you why you want to get your hands on some and start using it. For my first recipe I decided to make something pretty simple and opted for a vegetable and noodle soup.

Good evening everyone, Today I am going to be talking about my favourite vegetables, which are THE greens. I love adding greens to my dishes but it has to be quick & easy. I'm going to focus on the greens I use regularly and always have in the fridge/freezer. There are many others, which I eat when I am out and about but they're not necessarily in my fridge every week. These 3 are my favourite and I find them very easy to make tasty and appealing. 1. Spinach 2. Kale 3. Broccoli Below I've...

As it's now Tuesday and I'm thinking about what to make for the rest of this week, I thought I'd share 3 of my 'go-to' week night dinner recipes. These are all plant based and tasty but nutritious dinners that I make on a regular basis. The shepherd's pie is also one that my son will eat (HALLELUJAH). Two of the recipes are from Jamie Oliver and the last one is from Deliciously Ella. I like these because they require some ingredients that overlap and you don't need loads of fancy things to make...

Being a Scottish lass and having ALWAYS loved porridge, combined with the freezing weather we've experienced due to the Beast from the East, I've decided it's time to talk about our native breakfast again. It's warm, nutritious and the perfect breakie that can be tailored to individual tastes and enjoyed by the whole family!! A pimped version of our good Scottish staple has been tipped as one of the most popular foods trends of 2018. I may be biased but I am not surprised. The restaurant...

I am the GRANOLA QUEEN. I LOVE granola. It is something I will snack on or throw on top of smoothies, in smoothie bowls or serve simply with yoghurt. I used to buy granola all the time until I realised how easy peasy it is to make yourself, minus the added sugar & palm oil, which is contained within many brands of granola. I like my granola a little bit crunchy but with a doughy-ness in the big chunky bits. The great thing about making it yourself is that you can create the consistency you...

Today's post is a super quick recipe, which I created for the first time at the weekend. To be honest I kind of winged it off the back of an idea to combine these two ingredients. In general I'm not a massive fan of citrus flavour desserts or sweets and much prefer chocolate/caramel/banana/nutty type flavours but I'm also not a fan of comfort zones, so I decided to try something different. I was pleased these turned out so well. I liked the taste and you could really get a hint of lemon in...

Merry Christmas everyone... After all my planning for Christmas and ideas of what I was going to do, I ended up keeping it pretty simple but I wanted to share what I made as it was all very tasty. The first essential was the nut roast as I absolutely love nut roast and I followed one of the recipes I shared in an earlier post. With all the crazy rushing about I forget a few ingredients so I had to improvise a bit. It was a recipe from The Vegan Life magazine that I opted for because it looked...
