How to make nut and oat milk at Home

Date: Thursday 26th August

Where: Online via Zoom

Time: 8.15-9.30pm

Let's make mylk together!!!

This workshop will give you the tools and know how to make your own plant based milk - nut milk and oat milk - at home.

Did you know that only 26% of Tetra Pak cartons are recycled globally? This one statistic, alongside the mounting waste in my recycle bin and the realisation that most 'nut' milks ONLY contain 1-3% nuts at the most, led me on a quest to create my own tasty refill plant milks at home.

I recently launched a subscription service and my non dairy alternative nut milks will soon be available via refill stores in Aberdeen, BUT I can not reach everyone with my refill milk in glass bottles and this workshop is my way of sharing EVERYTHING I've learned to help you REDUCE your Tetra Pak consumption by creating delicious, creamy nut and oat milks at home using basic kitchen equipment.

Simply replacing 1-2 Tetra Pak  cartons per week with your own delicious nut and oat milk could mean saving 52-104 cartons per year!!

Once you get started you will wonder why you never tried it before.

In this workshop you will get:

  • An overview of why making your own milk is better for the environment and can save money.
  • Two simple recipes - one oat milk and one cashew milk.
  • Your very own nut milk bag - I'll post this straight after the workshop.
  • An equipment list of the tools you'll need make your own nut and oat milk .
  • An ingredients list of everything you'll need.
  • Suggestions of where to buy organic nuts and good quality Scottish Oats.
  • What to look out for when buying your ingredients in order to buy more sustainably.
  • Suggestions of other types of millks you could try.
